John Petrucci, John Myung, and Mike Portnoy are all married to members of the band Meanstreak.
The “circled M” symbol found on most Dream Theater releases is actually the “M” for Majesty, the band’s original name.
When they had to change their name, the new one was suggested by Mike Portnoy’s father, and it was taken from a cinema of the city where he lived.
For further informations, see the interviews in the documentary “The Score So Far …” on “Score” DVD’s disc 2.

In some concerts in the 2000s they covered several entire “classic” albums of other bands (one for any concert, besides their songs): Metallica‘s “Master of Puppets” (Barcelona, Spain, February 19, 2002), Iron Maiden‘s “The Number of the Beast”, Deep Purple‘s “Made in Japan”, Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon”.
Apart from bootlegs, they’ve been later released by Mike Portnoy’s label as part of the “official bootlegs” series.
