Rigor Mortis: Rigor Mortis-80’s-1988.

Rigor Mortis is an American thrash / speed metal group formed in 1983 in Texas . Two schoolmates, Harden Harrison (drums) and Casey Orr (bass) formed the band when they met guitarist Mike Scaccia . [ 1 ] Together with singer Bruce Corbitt they created a heavy and fast thrash metal, similar to the style of death metal . They were one of the few thrash bands to come out of Texas and virtually created the “underground metal” scene there. [ 2 ] The band signed a contract with Capitol Records in 1987.

In 2005, the original lineup reunited and then participated in the 2008 Ozzfest festival in Texas. In 2009, Rigor Mortis performed in Germany at the Keep It True festival.

On December 23, 2012, guitarist Mike Scaccia passed away from a heart attack while the band was giving a concert commemorating the 50th birthday of singer Bruce Corbitt. [ 3 ] [ 4 ]

On October 6, 2014 Rigor Mortis released his latest album, entitled “Slaves to the Grave”. The album was recorded in February 2012 at the Ministry band’s 13th Planet recording studio in El Paso . As there was no interest from any record company to publish the album, Rigor Mortis managed to raise $ 22,838 as a pre-sale of it among its fans in order to commercialize the production. [ 5 ] [ 6 ]
