Paradox: The Visitors-2021.

Paradox is a thrash metal group with influences from speed metal and power metal , formed in Germany in 1986.

The group was born in Würzburg in 1986 with two young musicians, Charly Steinhauer and Axel Blaha. Both founding members of other bands ( Overkill , Veneno , Maniac , Warhead ) since 1981 . In February 1986 they get Markus Spyth on guitar and Roland Stahl on bass.

In July 1986 they recorded a demo, which caught the attention of Roadrunner Records , a record company with which they would end up signing to release their first two albums.

In 1987 their second demo “Mystery” came out, it was a success for the band, the German press classified it as the best demo of 1987 .
In the same year the band soon recorded their first album “Product of Imagination” contains 10 songs and lasts 40 minutes approx. Is a success in Germany , Metal Hammer recognized as the best German debut after the Walls of Jericho by Helloween .

A year before releasing his second album, Roland Stahl left the band, and was replaced by Matthias “Kater” Schmitt. Shortly afterwards Markus Spyth also decides to leave the band, which was replaced by Dieter Roth.

In 1989 they released their second album “Heresy” , many think that it is the best album of the band. Paradox begins to be known by the whole world thanks to this album, which received praise all over the world. In November of this same year Dieter Roth is replaced by Kai Pasemann. As of this year the band was put on hold for personal reasons, and the continuous line-up changes did not help the band.

The band is inactive for almost ten years, in 1998 the founder Charly Steinhauer plans to rejoin the Paradox. With his partner Kai Pasemann on guitar and brothers Oliver Holzwarth and Alex Holzwarth, bassist and drums respectively.

In August 1999 they give a spectacular concert at the “Wacken Open Air 99” which shows the fans a furious return of Paradox.

In May 2000 they signed with AFM-Records and released their third album “Collision Course” , once again the album received very positive reviews.

After their third album the band was put on hold again, this time due to a serious intestinal disease in Charly Steinhauer, which forced him to perform numerous surgeries, which almost led him to death.

As it had already happened in 1998, Charly Steinhauer plans to rejoin the band, which takes place in September 2005 . They give a couple of gigs and the band re-aligns itself with Roland Jahoda on drums and Olly Keller on bass.

In January 2008 they released their fourth album, “Electrify” , it was once again a success especially in Japan

In October 2009 the band released their fifth album, “Riot Squad” , whose theme and concept speak of the difficult and violent times our civilization is experiencing. As for “Electrify,” the band featured Italian / Chilean artist Claudio Bergamin on the cover. [ 1 ]

On June 3, 2016, the brand new PARADOX album (seventh studio) is released under the title “Pangea” and under the record label (AFM Records). The album consists of 10 songs, and was produced by the singer of the group Charly Steinhauer who also plays the guitar.
